Catching Hope and a Future

Catching Hope and a Future is a ministry of encouragement for South Sudanese youth living in refugee settlement camps of Northern Uganda. Their daily life is a struggle to survive. They hang on to the hope of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and they long to complete their education and find a better life for their families and countrymen. They dream of becoming teachers, nurses, doctors, engineers, pastors, missionaries and social workers for the glory of God. But they face what can be an insurmountable challenge: paying their school fees so they can continue and complete their education.Catching Hope and a Future is a ministry that is committed to helping them realize their dreams. Furthermore, we are passionate about the spiritual health of the students. We encourage them to be disciples who make disciples, who in turn make disciples. “You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.”
2 Timothy 2:2We partner with long-time South Sudanese friends who are skilled ministers of the Gospel. They disciple and mentor these students year-round. These trained young people disciple the children in the camps in Sunday School and other gatherings. You can help our brothers and sisters in Christ complete their education and achieve their dreams. Many of them hope to return to South Sudan and help make it a nation of peace that loves and serves God.For $25 per month, you can support a student in school. This includes their school and exam fees, books, supplies, uniforms, shoes and school lunch. However, there are also other needs, as daily food and medical care is sometimes not readily available to them. A gift of any amount is greatly appreciated.
To support a university student, it is $2,200 on average per year. This includes all their costs.“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

“My mother can not afford for me. I lost my father, am now an orphan. I use cooking oil as my cosmetic. Soon we are getting back to school and I don’t know what to do because of this things am lacking. This time around I have said that am not going to school now because at home there are also challenges whereby no money for buying food. We only eat once a day.”-Robina Kojo Paul
